My story starts just like any other kid growing up in Nova Scotia Canada spending their days outdoors building tree houses, exploring in the woods, all while waiting for their mom to yell out the door “Full House just started”. From these humble beginnings I was able to start a successful business in the US selling solar panels to home owners so they could save money on their electricity bill, and offset their carbon footprint. I’ve traveled to 30 plus countries, lived off grid, swam with great whites, and learned many new skillset from computer programing, how to fly a plane, and cave diving. Fueling one of my passions, I attended an eight week program dedicated to space learning at the International Space University in Australia. I’ve spoken at conferences on space topics, worked alongside engineers building a space satellite that will soon be launched in low earth orbit to capture the Overview effect in Virtuality Reality (VR).
None of these things would have been possible if I didn’t take chance of moving to California to sell alarm systems door to door while in University. During this position we were taught how to set our goals and not to let anyone hold us back. This four month experience has made more of an effect on my life than my four year degree.
This average person took a chance, set some goals and became a not such an average person.
